Children Without Borders: Ukraine–Estonia Friendship 💛🌍

Sometimes, building an international connection only takes a sincere child’s drawing, a few warm words, and the desire to get to know each other. This is exactly how the cooperation between kindergartens from Ukraine and Estonia began — a story filled with creativity, excitement, and joyful discoveries.

Our platform has become a true international bridge between kindergartens, educators, and children from different countries. It opens opportunities not only for efficient kindergarten management, but also for experience sharing, cultural exchange, and creating warm connections between children. This is how a joint project between kindergartens from Ukraine and Estonia started — they came together to get acquainted and exchange Easter greeting cards made by the children themselves.

Two modern kindergartens that share common values of child development, individuality, and a supportive learning environment took part in the project.

Kingdom (Lviv, Ukraine) is part of the Kingdom Community educational network, which supports children from their first steps to the conscious choice of higher education and future profession. The network began in 2015 with the “Little Kingdom” development center and today includes modern kindergartens, Kingdom Family School (primary school), and Kingdom Lyceum.

Kingdom Kids - this is not just a kindergarten, but a community of deep values and high standards. It is a safe and comfortable space for the development of each child throughout the day, creating an atmosphere of happy childhood and laying the foundation for successful future learning.

From Estonia, the Kohila Lasteaed Sipsik kindergarten joined the project. It is located in Kohila, Rapla County, and provides early childhood education for children aged 1.5 to 7 years. Approximately 181 children attend the kindergarten.

This is a modern, child-centered institution that focuses on developing future skills such as independence, analytical thinking, critical thinking, cooperation, and communication. The educational process is built in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that helps children grow into confident, adaptable, and responsible individuals.

These shared values and openness to international cooperation became the foundation for the connection between children from Ukraine and Estonia, which soon turned into a warm exchange of creativity and emotions.

The introduction evolved into a meaningful joint activity that united children through creativity and kind wishes. Teachers in both countries first introduced the children to the topic of Easter, shared a little about Ukraine and Estonia, and explained who the greeting cards were for. The children learned that their creations would travel to new friends in another country, which sparked genuine interest and excitement.

In their groups, children created the cards together with their teachers. Each card was unique — filled with drawings, crafts, colorful wishes, and sincere emotions. Through creativity, children not only developed their skills but also learned kindness, openness, and care for new friends.

After completing the activity, all cards in each country were collected, carefully packed, and prepared for sending to the partner kindergarten. The packages traveled to new friends, delivering warm Easter greetings and a piece of children’s sincerity. The ELIIS team helped organize the process by coordinating the cooperation between the kindergartens and supporting this international exchange. Thanks to this, children gained not only a creative experience but also felt that friendship can cross borders and kind words can travel between countries.

Children in both countries, as well as our team, eagerly awaited the arrival of the packages. The moment of receiving them was truly heartwarming: sincere smiles, curiosity, and joy accompanied the unwrapping of each card 📦💛

For young children, this became a valuable new experience — discovering another culture, making international friends, and realizing that friends can live far away. Through such simple yet meaningful activities, children open up to the world and learn kindness and mutual respect.

We are happy that our platform is becoming not only a tool for kindergarten management but also a space for international cooperation and experience exchange between kindergartens from different countries. Initiatives like this help build real connections between educational communities and open new opportunities for children. We will be glad to continue supporting similar international collaborations and bringing kindergartens together for new joint initiatives.

In the light of Easter — a holiday symbolizing renewal, family warmth, and hope — we wish everyone peace, kindness, and harmony 🕊️🌸 May this Easter mark the beginning of a new bright period for all of us — a time of mutual understanding, support, warm meetings, and friendship without borders.
